BRIDAL BUZZ: THE DOS AND DONT’S OF A WEDDING MAKEUP TRIAL

Wedding Season is in full swing and Wedding Trials are already on our radar for 2017.

Wedding Trials ensure that you have decided on the perfect makeup look for your wedding day. This gives you the perfect opportunity to try out a look (or a few looks) and get a feel for what you want.

We know how important it is to look and feel incredible on your Wedding Day. With that in mind we have put together a list of the top 10 dos and don’ts to prepare you for your first Wedding makeup trial.

1.Do Prepare: Bring pictures and any other inspiration that you might have. We recommend setting up a Pinterest board to keep track of everything. It is a great way to visualise the overall concept of the Wedding.

2.Do wear tan (If you will be wearing it on the big day): One of the most common things we experience is brides not wearing tan when they are doing their trial. A lot of brides will have a spray tan before their wedding day so it is a good opportunity to try out your tan as well as your makeup and get a true feel for how the whole package will look.

3.Do be yourself: It can be tempting to go for a dramatic and different look but remember that you should still look like yourself. Go with your gut and don’t listen to too many opinions.

4.Do give yourself time: Give yourself plenty of time to get your trial done before your wedding. This will allow you to book a second trial if necessary.

5.Do picture the whole look: If necessary do your trial prior to a dress fitting. It can be difficult to picture the complete look so remember that what you wear to your trial won’t always do the makeup justice.

1.Don’t have your trial done at night: If you are going out in the evening it can affect what way you get your makeup done. It is also good to see your makeup in the best light possible.

2.Don’t be too trend led: Remember that your look should be timeless. Trends come and go but your Wedding pictures will last a lifetime.

3.Don’t keep your opinions to yourself: Be VERY vocal with your makeup artist. It is their goal to create the perfect look for you so if there is anything that you would like changed speak up about it.

4.Don’t forget to take photos: Take lots of pictures and document your look. Take a look at it from all angles and in different light to make sure that you are happy.

5.Don’t take it off immediately: Leave your makeup on for the day and see how your makeup wears as the day goes on.
